You are more than the mistakes you've made.

Hello, lovely people!
I'm going to do something a little different this week. I feel like instead of sharing what I've done to make people smile, I should show you what's made me smile this week! The quotes I will be posting below have either made me smile, reminded me of this project, or reflected how I've felt in a multitude of situations. Maybe they'll hold some importance to you as well. :)

"Laugh as much as you breathe, and love as much as you live."

"Today will never come again. Let your words heal and not wound."

"Tell me, princess, now when did you last let your heart decide?" (Disney!)

"It's just a bad day, not a bad life."

"Don't let your happiness depend on something you may lose."

"You musn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling."

"I'll keep you safe. You keep me wild."

"If you love someone you say it. You say it right then, out loud. Otherwise, the moment just passes you by."

"Each time of life has its own kind of love."

"All you need is 20 seconds of insane courage and I promise you something great will come of it."

"If you don't know where you want to go, then it doesn't matter which path you take."

"You can never have too much happy."

Sorry for so many quotes, but I think they need to be shared. They're not your average cliches that people are fond of throwing around, and I think that's why they stick with me. Maybe they'll speak to you too.

                                                                   Love love love,
                                                                            Katrina

Insert Clever Title Here

Hello, lovelies!
This past week hasn't been nearly as eventful as the weeks to come will be, but I'd say it was a successful week! My bigger "Smile, Darling" assignment was to find quotes that would brighten someone's day and slip them into lockers for their owners to find. (My apologies if these slips of paper contributed to the mess high school lockers usually contain.) I hope some of you are here now because of those quote slips!
Also, while I do not have detail on all my classmates' projects yet, I'd like to give a big shout out to Tess and Morgan for fighting world hunger with their 5K this weekend. From what I've heard, it was quite successful. If any of you want in on their project as well, they're selling t-shirts. They say, "I have the power to change the world." Maybe I'll post a picture of it later in the week? Shoot me an e-mail if interested!
That's all I really have to share today, but hopefully I'll be getting project details from everyone in the coming week to share with all of you!
                                                                                                                                 Lots of love,
                                                                                                                                            Katrina

Starting Out

Hello, darlings!
My name is Katrina and I’m a sophomore at Randolph Southern High School in good ol’ Lynn, Indiana. My current English class assignment is to “change the world.” That’s where this blog comes in! I pondered many causes that would be worthy of my attention, but then I found that the biggest problem in life is being unhappy.
Happiness is one of the most important things in life to have. While there are many reasons in life for us to be less than happy, choosing to be happy can literally be the difference between life and death. Some struggles in life, from getting up in the morning to dealing with a cancer diagnosis, can be overcome simply by choosing to be positive and happy.
Choosing to be happy can be hard sometimes, especially when multiple people are involved in the situation. That’s where my project comes in. I may not change someone’s entire life, but I may change their day, and that is worth it. Each week I will be doing little “Smile, Darling” assignments while working daily to brighten someone’s day. Each week I will write about my endeavors and share them with all of you! At the end of the nine weeks grading period, I plan to have a “release your fears” day (balloons will be involved). I hope through the use of this blog, I can spread the message of happiness.

                                                                                                                                            Smile on,
Katrina

P.S. Excuse any changes to the blog that may happen in the next few weeks. I am working to make it exactly how I want it, and, frankly, I’m not very tech-savvy.

P.P.S. I will also be keeping up with my classmates’ projects, so as to help them spread their word. A post about their upcoming events will be available shortly.
